New Hāpara admin onboarding hub: choose your setup path Follow
This article helps Hāpara administrators choose the right setup, back-to-school, data loading, teacher rollout, or support path.
Who this is for
Administrators, IT leads, technology coaches, implementation contacts, and school or district staff responsible for setting up or maintaining Hāpara.

If you are a teacher looking for classroom help, start with Welcome to Hāpara! (for educators) or the Hāpara quick start guide for teachers instead.

Path 5: I need to choose or manage a data loading method
Use this path if you need to load classes, teachers, and students into Hāpara.
Start with: Choosing a data loading method
Hāpara supports these data loading options:
- Google Classroom sync
-
Teacher-created classes
- Manual spreadsheet load
-
SIS sync, including Clever, PowerSchool, and ClassLink
- Automated cURL load
Choose the method that best matches your school size, systems, staffing, and automation needs. You can use more than one method, but decide which classes are system-managed and which are teacher-managed to avoid duplicate classes.
Follow these steps:
- Confirm who owns rostering at your school or district.
- Choose one primary data loading method.
- Review the instructional impact of that method.
- Run a preview before syncing or loading data.
- Confirm that sample teachers can see the correct classes and students.
- Tell teachers how classes will appear and how roster updates will happen.

- Keep setup tasks and teacher rollout tasks separate so each audience gets the right instructions.
- Preview data before syncing classes into Hāpara.
- Use a dedicated Hāpara Admin account or service account instead of a named staff member whenever possible.
- Share teacher-facing links only after your data loading plan and class visibility timeline are clear.
- Review this article before each back-to-school period to make sure links and setup paths are current.
