Self‑Service Setup — Step 1: Access the Hāpara Admin Console Follow

Confirm pre‑setup is complete.
Finish the Self‑service Hāpara Pre‑Setup Guide first. This ensures your Google Workspace settings allow access.Use the right Google account.
Sign in using a domain Google Super Administrator account on the student domain (or sub‑domain).-
Open the onboarding page.
Go to app.hapara.com/onboarding and sign in with your Google Super Admin account. -
Grant permissions
In the Google authorization pop‑up, scroll and accept to grant Hāpara the required access to your domain. -
Confirm the Hāpara Admin account
Enter the email of the Hāpara Admin account you created in Pre‑Setup and click Confirm account. The Hāpara Admin must have Groups Admin and User Management roles. -
Proceed to Step 2
When the Admin Console loads, continue to Step 2: Add your school(s) and set user permissions.
Quick troubleshooting
“Whoops, something went wrong!”
Pop‑ups are likely blocked. In your browser’s address bar, click the pop‑up icon → Always allow pop‑ups and redirects from app.hapara.com → Done, then Try again.
Locked out after closing the tab / can’t re‑open the Admin Console
Ensure you’ve added yourself to the Tech Admins Google Group from User permissions → Roles. Allow time for Google Groups membership to sync (can take up to 24 hours).-
Still can’t access?
Re‑check that Pre‑Setup is completed (Step 1a–1b, Highlights extension, Admin account). If needed, email implementation@hapara.com.
Additional tips
Security hygiene (after setup is complete): If applicable, you can reduce the Admin service account from Super Admin to Groups Admin and User Management permissions once all steps are done.
