A student in my class is in a Guide Browsing session that I did not initiate Follow

If a student in your class is in a Guide Browsing Focus Session or Filter Session you did not initiate, the session may still be active in another class. Another teacher may also have started a session after yours. You can release the student using the yellow target on their Student Tile.

Problem

You may see the message “Some students are currently in a guided session.” Check the target icon on the student’s tile to identify which class is guiding their browsing.

The target icon on a Student Tile shows whether the student is in an active Focus Session or Filter Session:

• White target: the student is in an active guided browsing session in the class you are viewing.
• Yellow target: the student is in an active guided browsing session in another class.

Note: Each student can be in only one guided browsing session at a time. Starting a new session for a student who is already in a session replaces that student's previous session.

Solution

1. On the student’s tile, select the yellow target.
2. Review the confirmation message identifying the teacher who started the session.
3. Select Release from focus session or Release from filter session, depending on the session type.

This releases the student from that guided browsing session.
