Adding your school/s
Welcome to the Hāpara Admin Console! When accessing for the first time, you will land on the Schools page. Here you will add the schools within your domain that will be accessing Hāpara.
This is an important step to complete before moving through the rest of the setup process.
1. To add a school to Hāpara, navigate to School details. > Click the + Add school button on the right-hand side.
2. A pop-up window will appear for you to add your school name and school code.
We recommend that school codes be kept short. Generally, schools use the initials of the school or a Ministry of Education number: e.g., Hipi High= HH.
NOTE: If you are rostering your data with SIS sync, please ensure the school code matches the school_number field for Clever and PowerSchool, and sourcedID for ClassLink.
3. Repeat this process to add additional schools.
User Permissions
Hāpara generates Google groups to assign roles and grant users access to Hāpara.
It is important that the administrator setting up Hāpara adds themselves to the Tech Admin group to ensure they are able to access the Hāpara Admin Console after completion of setup.
1. Access the User permissions page from the left-hand menu bar. > Select Roles.
2. From the Roles page, navigate to Tech Admins. > Click the Edit members button. This will open up the Google groups td.administrators in your Google Admin Console.
3. Once you have been directed to the Google Admin Console, click the ADD MEMBERS button. > Add your account to this group. This will ensure that you will be able to re-access the Hāpara Admin Console.
Please note: It can take up to 24 hours for the updates to the Google group members to pull through onto our end. If you close the Hāpara admin console tab during the setup process, you may not be able app.hapara.com/admin again until the next day.
