What does Browser Tabs show me? Follow
For: Teachers
What you need
- Keep Highlights open during the lesson; ordinary live Browser Tabs activity is not a permanent browsing-history report.
- Students must use the managed school Chrome profile and Highlights extension.
How to use this view
- Sign in to Hāpara, open the class, then select Highlights and Class View.
- Select Browser Tabs above the Student Tiles.
- Review the website names and icons shown in each learner's tile. The current site is distinguished from other open tabs.
- Select a website name when you need to check the destination before taking action.
- Use the close control beside a tab only when it is unrelated to the lesson, then give the learner a clear learning-focused reason.
What it looks like
Use the numbered callouts in each image to match what you see on screen.
What you’ll see
Each Student Tile lists recently opened websites. The active website is emphasized, and selecting a website opens it on the teacher's device for review.
If something looks wrong
- If a student appears Offline or has no tabs, confirm their connection, school account, Chrome Sync and extension status.
- Investigate an unfamiliar website before closing or blocking it.
Good to know
- The active website is visually emphasized in the learner's tile.
- Open a listed website yourself before deciding whether it needs to be closed or blocked.
