Hāpara Teacher Dashboard is a central hub that gives you visibility into your students’ work in Google Workspace for Education. Teacher Dashboard’s simple setup allows you to view and access work, while also providing formative feedback, all from one place.
With Teacher Dashboard, you don’t have to worry about keeping track of files or finding enough time to give consistent feedback. In fact, it also makes it easy for you to differentiate instruction and quickly share digital files with students.
Let’s explore what you can do with Teacher Dashboard to streamline instruction and make learning more meaningful.
View and access student work
Teacher Dashboard is organized with Student Tiles. Each student in your class will have a Student Tile, and it will show their most recent work.
In the Last Modified column, you can see when the student last worked on the file. Also, by hovering your mouse over the name of a file, you can preview it and see additional details about the student’s progress.
You can also access their work with just one click. Simply click on the name of the file, and it will open on your device.
If you’re looking for a specific file and don’t see it right away, you can use the search field to find files in Student Tiles.
Or you can click the Drive button to search across students’ Google Drives.
Provide formative feedback and communicate with students
Teacher Dashboard allows you to provide students with formative feedback any time throughout their progress. No more waiting for students to turn in assignments!
When you click on an assignment in a Student Tile, it will open on your device. Then you can provide formative feedback by adding a comment into the Google Doc, Sheet, Slide or Drawing.
Another way to provide feedback is simply to send the student an email. You can do this directly from Teacher Dashboard, without having to switch over to your email account and look up a student’s email address.
Differentiate instruction with Teacher Dashboard groups
Another powerful feature in Teacher Dashboard is the ability to create groups to help you differentiate learning. You can use the Groups feature to create groups based on learning level, project assignments, ELL or IEP status, or however you’d prefer to sort students.
You can then share resources by group or filter your Teacher Dashboard view to see specific groups.
Create and share resources with Share files
The Share files feature in Teacher Dashboard allows you to share Google Drive files you’ve already created. Or you can create and share files in the moment with your whole class, groups or individuals.
You can also set permissions for each file to specify if you want students to be able to edit the file, comment on it or only view it.
