Copying or duplicating a Workspace in Hāpara Follow
This article guides teachers and administrators through the process of duplicating a Workspace in Hāpara, and what elements are included in the copy.

Overview
You can copy any Workspace you own, a Workspace where you are listed as a co-teacher, or a public Workspace you find in Hāpara's Discover tab.
When you make a copy, you will see all cards and teacher-created attachments. Attachments that students added to the original Workspace will not be copied.
You will also see student group categories in the copy, but students will not be attached to the groups.
After copying, you will need to add your classes from the Groups section in the Workspace.
How to copy one of your own Workspaces in Hāpara
1. Visit the My Workspaces tab in Hāpara Workspace.
2. On the Workspace card, click the three dots to open the menu.
3. Select Copy.
Alternatively, you can open the Workspace. > Click the three dots to open the menu. > Select Copy Workspace.
4. From My Workspaces, click on the Owned by me tab on the left side. You will be able to see your copy in the list of Workspaces.
5. Next, open the Workspace copy.
6. Find the Groups section on the left side of the Workspace.
7. Click Edit Groups. > This will open the Students & Groups window.
8. From Classes on the left side, click on the class you want to add to the copied Workspace. > Drag and drop it into a new group. This will add the class to the Workspace.
Alternatively, you can add individual students to a group. Click on a student name and drag and drop it into a group.
9. Lastly, review the copied Workspace cards and due dates.
10. From the Workspace, click the blue Publish button when you're ready to publish it for students to access.
How to copy a public Workspace in Hāpara
1. Sign in to Hāpara.
2. From Workspace, click on the Discover tab.
3. Find a Workspace that you want to copy. > Click on it.
4. Click the blue Open Workspace button.
5. Click Copy in the top-right corner.
6. From My Workspaces, click on the Owned by me tab on the left side. You will be able to see your copy in the list of Workspaces.
7. Next, open the Workspace copy.
8. Find the Groups section on the left side of the Workspace.
9. Click Edit Groups. > This will open the Students & Groups window.
10. From Classes on the left side, click on the class you want to add to the copied Workspace. > Drag and drop it into a new group. This will add the class to the Workspace.

What is included in a copy of a Hāpara Workspace?
- All Workspace sections and cards from the original are included.
- Teacher-created attachments such as Google files, links and instructions are included.
What is not included when I make a copy of a Hāpara Workspace?
Attachments and submissions that students made are not carried over to the copied Workspace.
Additional notes
- Student group categories are carried over to the copy, but students from the original will not be attached to the groups.
- You can edit Workspace cards, due dates, and groups in the copy without affecting the original.
Troubleshooting
- Can’t see your copy of the Workspace? Make sure you are a teacher Workspace owner or a co-teacher on the Workspace. Also check if the Workspace you copied is public. Lastly, check that you are signed in to Hāpara.
- Are students missing from groups in the Workspace? Firs, assign classes in the Students & Groups section of the Workspace. Once you assign classes, students will automatically be added from those class rosters.
- Did you accidentally copy the wrong file template? Replace the attachment on the relevant Workspace card and republish it.
