Add Google Drive files to a card
Open Hāpara Workspace and choose the card where you want to add a Google Drive file.
Click the Google Drive icon on the card.
Select a file from Drive or click Create new (it will use the card title for the filename).
Note: When you add a Google Drive file to a Hāpara Workspace card, it may show as View access for students or students may be able to edit the file. This depends on the Hāpara Workspace column.
Hāpara Workspace columns 1, 2, or 4 → Students get View access.
Hāpara Workspace column 3 (assignments and assessments) → A copy is created for each student to edit.
Add a Google Form to a card
Using the Drive picker can accidentally grant edit access or create copies, which is usually not what you want for a Form.
Open the Form in Google Forms.
Click Send (top right).
Choose Link. > Then Copy the link.
-
On the Hāpara Workspace card, click the link icon. > Paste the Google Form link you copied.
Check Form settings in Google Forms (e.g., who can respond) as needed.
Add a Google Slides presentation to a card
Option 1 — Drive picker (most common)
Open the Slides file. > Confirm sharing permissions are set as needed.
-
On the Hāpara Workspace card, click the Google Drive icon. > Select the Slides file.
Option 2 — Link (for view-only or special URLs)
If you need to link a specific Slides URL, click the link icon on the Hāpara Workspace card and paste the link.
Note: Due to a Google change, "Publish to the web" Google Slides links are not currently supported when adding to Workspace. Our team is working on a solution.
Additional tips
Quick naming: Using Create new on a card auto-names the file with the card title. This is helpful for consistency.
Prevent “Request access” on Google Forms: Always use the Send → Link method for Forms so students open the Form as respondents, not collaborators.
