In this article:
Overview
Hāpara Highlights allows teachers to easily view current student browser activity, guide student browsing and view the files in student Google Drives.
To view Google Drives, click the Drive button in Highlights.
Student Tiles will now switch to display Google Drive files.
After clicking on the Drive button, teachers are able to:
- View most recent files, sorted by date last modified
- Open files from Student Tiles by clicking on the file name
- Preview documents by hovering over the file name
- Search and filter document names and content
Note: The Drive tab will only appear when Google Drive Sharing View is enabled in the Hāpara Admin Console by your school/district technical administrator.
Filtering files by file type
In Student Tiles, you will see students' most recent files. Use the scroll bar on the right side of a Student Tile to see older files.
To narrow down the type of files that are displayed, click on the All documents drop-down menu.
Then select one of the following file types:
- Public documents - View files shared publicly.
- External documents - View files shared with someone from outside of your school domain.
- Unshared documents - View files that have not been shared with you.
- Deleted documents - View files that students have recently moved to their trash.
Viewing these types of files helps you ensure that students are safely sharing files and staying focused on learning. This can also help you find a student's misplaced file.
Searching for documents
You can also search for a Google Drive file by file name or keywords.
1. Click inside the Search for documents box.
2. Type the file name or keywords < Press enter. In the Student Tiles, you will see files only containing the search results.
3. To remove those search results, click the Clear button on the left-hand side.
