Reactivate the automated SIS daily sync for the new school year Follow

This article helps Hāpara administrators restart automated roster syncing after their SIS or Clever data has rolled over for the new school year.

Summary

After confirming that your new school year rosters are ready in your source system, turn Sync roster data daily back on in the Hāpara Admin Console.

The automated daily sync is disabled during Hāpara’s end-of-year archiving process. It must be reactivated before new roster data will begin loading automatically.

 

Before you begin

Confirm that your SIS or Clever data has rolled over and contains the correct classes, teachers and students for the new school year.

Turning on the sync before your source data is ready may load incomplete or outdated roster information into Hāpara.

 

Reactivate the daily roster sync

  1. Sign in using an account with Hāpara administrator access.
  2. Open the Hāpara Admin Console.
  3. Navigate to Class rostering > Admin managed roster.
  4. Scroll down to Sync automation.
  5. Set Sync roster data daily to Yes.

Once enabled, Hāpara will automatically sync your roster data overnight.

Run an on-demand roster sync

If you do not want to wait for the overnight sync, you can start the process manually:

  1. In Admin managed roster, navigate to the Roster data section.
  2. Select Sync class data.
  3. Wait for the class data sync to finish.
  4. Select Sync student data.

Important: Always allow the class data sync to finish before starting the student data sync. Classes must exist in Hāpara before students can be added to them.

 

Additional tips

  • Review your SIS or Clever rosters before enabling the daily sync.
  • Allow time for the sync to finish before checking the new classes in Hāpara.
  • If expected classes or students are missing, confirm that they are present and correctly shared in your source system.
  • Contact Hāpara Support or book a session with the Implementation team if you need help reviewing your data-loading setup.
