Welcome to Hāpara Dashboard Follow
Hāpara Dashboard is the central hub for viewing learners’ work in G Suite. It’s an organized, simple platform that enables teachers to view, access, and give feedback on digital work.
With Dashboard, teachers have one-click access to Google Drive files which can really help to save teachers time and energy managing learners working in G Suite.

Viewing Classes
How to change the name on a student panel.
This requires G Suite for Education administrator access.
- Access admin.google.com.
- Log in as an administrator.
- Click Users.
- Search for the student's username via the search bar.
- Select the student's account from the list of search results.
- Click Account.
- Under Basic Information, click Edit.
- Double-click the student's First or Last name to highlight it.
- Type in the student's desired name.
- Click UPDATE USER.
- It may take up to 24 hours for the student's name to update in Hāpara Dashboard due to caching.
How to preview a student's doc.
Roll your mouse over any doc name in Hāpara Dashboard to preview the doc.
This is a quick and convenient way to see when the doc was last viewed, who last updated the doc, and who the doc is shared with. Eg:
How to open a student's doc.
Click any doc in the student's panel of Hāpara Dashboard, or you can navigate to and open a doc from the class Google Drive folder.
How to open a student's folder in Google Drive.
- Click the three dots on the student's panel to expand the 'more menu'.
- Select 'Open Folder'
How to email an individual student.
- Click the three dots on the student's panel to expand the 'more menu'.
- Select 'Email'
- This will open your preferred email program or app where you can compose an email to the student.
Alternatively, you can email the entire class
How to assign a student to color groups.

- Click the three dots on the student's panel to expand the 'more menu'.
- Select 'Edit Groups'
- Tick any color groups the student should added to, untick any you wish to remove the student from.
- Click the x button in the top right of the student panel to close the 'Edit Groups' box.
- The student's groups will display across the top of the student panel
Dashboard Display Options
Hāpara Dashboard supports a number of display options, including Search Content, Group Filters, Sorting and Number of items to view. These options can be accessed from the top right of the Dashboard Menu bar.
How to change how many docs are shown in student panels.
- Click the number-of-items drop-down menu in your dashboard's top right corner.
- Select your desired number of items.
How to sort student panels by students' names.
- Click the Sort By button in the toolbar on the right side of your dashboard.
- Click the Select Sort Order drop-down menu.
- Select your preferred sort order
How to reorder student panels by clicking-and-dragging.
- Roll your mouse over a student's name.
- Click the student's panel and drag it in front of or behind another panel.
How to search for students' documents.
- Roll your mouse over the magnifying glass in the top right corner of your dashboard.
- Select the type of search you would like to perform.
- Title search: Returns any documents that have a given string of text in their titles.
- Full-text search: Returns any documents that have a given string of text anywhere in the document.
- Type the text you would like to search for in the text box.
- Press the Enter key or click the magnifying glass.
Managing Classes
The Manage Classes page is the place to change class options such as Class Color, Nickname and visibility in 'My Classes'.
