What is a digital resource manager?
Digital resource manager is a role within Hāpara that is able to add content to and customize the Our Library tab of the Hāpara Digital Backpack and Hāpara Workspace. Your Hāpara administrator can designate someone to have this role via a Google group.
Digital resource managers may be your curriculum team, a group of administrators, library media specialists or department heads–it is really up to the needs of your school. We recommend that Digital resource managers work together to build out the Our Library tab in a way that works best for your teachers.
Some digital resource managers will only see functionality that helps them build out the library. However, it is possible for a digital resource manager to also be a teacher with classes in Hāpara.
Why does it take 3-5 days to upload a resource to the Digital Backpack?
In order to make resources accessible and responsive, PDFs are digitized so that they will work across various devices and to maintain original content integrity. The resource then needs to be manually checked to ensure all formatting, captions, images, etc. are correct.
It is important to us that students have the best possible reading experience in the digital reader, and ensuring that all resources meet those expectations takes time.
Who can see the resources I add to the Our Library?
Any teacher in your school/district with access to Digital Backpack can see all of the content that is added to the Our Library tab.
Who can see the collections I create?
Any teacher in your school/district with access to Digital Backpack can see all of the collections that are added to the Our Library tab.
Who else can add to my school/district library/edit collections?
Only those who have been given the role of digital resource manager can make changes in the Our Library tab. Who has been given this role in your organization is up to your administration. We highly recommend digital resource managers work as a team to maintain your library. If you do not know who else in your school/district has this role, reach out to your Hāpara administrator to find out.

What can I upload into my school library?
The Digital Backpack allows you to upload any resource, so that teachers and students in your school can access an easy to read, responsive digital version of it. The resources you upload should only be resources that you have a license to reproduce. See this article for more information about the license and copyright requirements for uploads.
For recommendations and best practices on uploading resources, see this article.
Your Digital Backpack subscription comes with a limited number of pages that you can upload. Be sure to keep track of this number. You may need to be strategic with what resources get digitized. You can work with your digital resource manager team to plan what content gets put into the Digital Backpack.
