New: Remove students not in uploaded data Follow

The Hapara Admin Console supports multiple methods of uploading Class Rosters or students into Hapara:

  • Manual Data load using a CSV/Google Sheet,
  • SIS Integration with Clever, Powerschool or RIC one, or
  • URL load

In the past, all data loads were incremental – as new students and classes were detected in a load, they were added to the roster. However, any students missing from the data load who had been previously loaded would not be removed.

At the request of Hapara administrators, we have added an option to the Data Loading configuration in the Hapara Admin Console to remove students no longer included in the most recent load from Class rosters. It can be enabled as a one-off setting for manual Data Loads, or a persistent setting for automated Sync from SIS or URL.

Important Note:  DO NOT enable this option if:

  1. You are unsure of how your data sync works.
  2. You do not include all students with every sync.
  3. You are doing a partial data load

Once this option is enabled, any students not included in a data load will be removed from the Class Rosters in Hapara. As a result teachers will lose visibility into these students' work and students will lose access to Hapara Workspace.

How do I enable this option?

To enable this option for manual loads (Google Sheets or CSV), take the following steps:

As stated above, because this setting can have drastic negative effects on your Hapara environment if used incorrectly, we strongly advise that you contact us if you are unsure about whether you should enable this option, or if you have additional questions about it.
