Teacher Portal - Highlights Integration Overview
If you are running the Hāpara Instructional Suite and Deledao ActiveScan, presented by Hāpara together, there is a direct integration that takes place between Highlights and the web filter.
Students are mapped directly to the teachers of classes they are assigned to in Hāpara Dashboard. Students can select from these teachers to send a request to unblock a website. Unblock requests will show in Highlights for teachers who are online, and they will be able to process requests directly from here.
If a student requests an unblocking of a URL from a teacher who is appearing as offline in Highlights, the request will be sent via an email notification to the teacher. It will include a link to view and process the unblock request through the Teacher Portal.
To ensure that teachers have access to the Teacher Portal feature which allows them to process unblock requests, a mapping is required to be set up via the web filter admin console.
There are two options available that verify Teacher Portal access:
Directory Management
Setting up mappings via the Directory Management settings in the Teacher Portal, which is found in the filter admin console, will ensure that teachers will be able to receive unblock requests and process these through the Teacher Portal for any student they have been mapped to.

Rostering
The Rostering feature allows admin users to automatically import classroom and parent information from Google Classroom, ClassLink, Infinite Campus or Clever-compatible data.

Troubleshooting
Once you have set up a verification method through either Directory Management or Rostering, teachers will have the ability to access the Teacher Portal to view and process any unblock requests students have sent them.
If a mapping has not been set up through either Directory Management or Rostering, teachers will not be able to log into the Teacher Portal and will be met with the error message below.
Please review mappings in the Teacher Portal section of the filter admin console if you find any teachers are having this issue.
