User Management overview

When your school or district begins using Deledao ActiveScan, presented by Hāpara, you will assign a web filter administrator. This person will do the initial filter setup, maintain filter policies and monitor filter activity within the web filter admin console. There may be other members of your technology team that also need this administrator access.

Additionally, there may be situations where school administrators such as principals would like to view student internet activity in the Reporting section of the web filter admin console. While you may not want them to be able to make technical changes to things like policies, it could be helpful to give them more restricted read-only access to reports. 

User Management allows you to assign web filter admin console permissions based on roles to restrict their admin console access.

Two-factor authentication

To enable two-factor authentication for all users added to the web filter admin console, regardless of role, navigate to Configuration > Manage Users and check Enable two-factor authentication for all users.  Click Save to finalize your selection.

User Management

To give other users access to the web filter admin console navigate to Configuration > Manage Users and select Add New User.

Fill out the required fields of First Name, Last Name, Role, Email, Password, Confirm Password and then select Submit.

Roles

Standard

• Gets all admin privileges except for managing users
  
• Wellness Management is optional.

Read-only

• Gets view-only access of the Admin Console and cannot make any changes
• If no Organizational Units are mapped, then they will be able to view all Admin Console pages. 
• If Organizational Units are mapped, they will not be able to see all of the Admin Console pages. 
• Access to view an entire district or an individual OU and allows an Admin to choose which students they will have access to view

Operator

• Gets the same access as the read-only user, except:
  • Operators can see all OUs. There's no need to select OUs for them.
  • Operators can modify the allowed list, blocked list, allowed and blocked keywords parts of rules. However, such modifications cannot override those settings in the policy template unless otherwise configured.
  • Operators can delete, import and export their own lists and keywords, but not override those in the policy template.
  • Operators cannot add or delete rules, disable/enable rules or change rule order.
  • Operators cannot see the teacher portal, parent portal, deployment or configuration tabs.
  • Operators can have read-only permission to the Wellness tab.

Admin

• Gets full access to web filter Admin Console
